
2007 Fall Wine Celebration and Auction
The 2007 Fall Wine Celebration and Auction was held on Friday, October 12, 2007 in the Round Barn at the Red Mile Racetrack. This sold out event was once again a tremendous success! An exclusive evening featuring luxury live and silent auction items from all around the world such as Belize, Trillium in Cashiers, North Carolina, Las Vegas, New York, Napa Valley, Sun Valley, and wines from Hall, Silver Oak, Jordan, Kendall-Jackson, Ferrari-Carano and Blackbird just to name a few!
2007 Prostate Cancer Medical Symposium
The Lexington Foundation Medical Symposium, in partnership with the UK Markey Cancer Center, was held on Friday, October 5 - 6th, 2007 at the Radisson Plaza Hotel. The topic of focus was prostate cancer. The two day seminar will feature a national panel of expert physicians covering topics ranging from chemoprevention, primary local therapy, systemic therapy, and supportive care.
2007 Lexington Derby Ball
The 2007 Lexington Derby Ball, held at the beautiful Donamire Farm, was an enchanting evening where guests dined and danced the night away surrounded by orchids, mermaids, shells, seahorses and more. Once again our talented John Morris of Decoratifs, located in
Lexington, Kentucky, prepared the original artwork that was featured on the invitations and posters. L.V. Harkness & Co. presented each couple with an exquisite gift while David Yurman jewelry and other collections were featured by Corbett-Fram Jewelers. Guest also participated in an auction including an exquisite oil painting by renowned equine artist Peter Williams and Corbett-Frame featured the gorgeous Bee Collection from Slane & Slane - a freshwater pearl with a one carate diamond sterling silver clasp.
2006 Fall Wine Celebration and Auction
The 2006 Lexington Foundation Fall Wine Celebration was held on Friday, October 13, 2006 in the Round Barn at the Red Mile Racetrack. The event was a tremendous success! Two hundred and twenty four guests guests enjoyed wines from Stonestreet Vineyard, Jordan Winery, and Lexington's Jean Farris Winery. Dinner was prepared by Bayou Bluegrass Catering. The silent and live auctions were a success, as the Foundation surpassed its fundraising goal.
2006 Colorectal Cancer Medical Symposium
The Lexington Foundation Medical Symposium was held in Lexington, Kentucky on Friday October 27, 2006 at the Embassy Suites Hotel. The topic of focus was colorectal cancer: prevention, early detection, and optimal treatment. 7.25 AMA Category 1 Credits were available. Experts from major cancer centers throughout the United States joined UK's stellar faculty.
2006 Lexington Derby Ball
The 2006 Lexington Derby Ball was held at Donamire Farm. Guests dined and danced the night away in a beautiful garden setting with dragonflies, butterflies and ladybugs. John Morris of Decoratifs, located in
Lexington, Kentucky, prepared an original botanical artwork that was featured on the invitation. L.V. Harkness & Co. presented an English Garden dessert plate designed and produced for The Lexington Foundation.
2005 Grants Funded
Grants requested and approved for 2005 include $100,000 to the Markey Cancer Center at the University of Kentucky, $10,000 to Hospice of the Bluegrass Cynthiana Building Fund, $500 to Radiology Oncology at Central Baptist Hospital, $50,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, $52,500 to The Hope Lodge and $7,700 to Central Baptist Hospital for development of a Comprehensive Hereditary Cancer Program. 2005 Fall Wine Celebration
The 2005 wine dinner and auction was held Friday, October 21st in the round barn at the Red Mile Racetrack. Featured wines from the Jackson's Stonestreet Winery were served with dinner. Sandra Jordon's (Jordan Winery) new furniture and wine accessory line was on display. Guests listened to a call in radio show done by Rig Dees (Weekly Top Forty fame) and 25 items were auctioned. Proceeds from the exceeded all expectations.
2005 Breast Cancer Symposium
The 2005 Novel Diagnostics & Therapeutics Seminar for Clinicians was held on October 21st at the Keene Barn Entertainment Center at Keeneland. 5.0 AMA Category I Credit was available for physicians. 112 physicians and healthcare personnel from four states attended the program. A stellar faculty of nine presented the latest in breast cancer research, treatment and care.
2005 Lexington Derby Ball
Eight hundred guests attended the 2005 Lexington Derby Ball at Donamire Farm on Derby Eve. Photos from the evening are now posted in the Photo Gallery.
